As batteries impose significant limitations on the performance of next-generation air mobility systems premised on electrification, hybrid systems are emerging as a key technology to bridge the gap with conventional aircraft. However, when it comes to air mobility, "hybrid systems" can take on a wide variety of configurations depending on the mission profile. This presentation explores the potential of optimal hybrid systems for various types of air mobility.
